On vacation and don't know where your dog is allowed to be "pawloose" and fancy free?
Although dogs are not allowed on any Siesta Key beaches, PLEASE don’t despair!!! There are plenty of places for you and yours to enjoy a frolicking time... "together"!
Here's a list of pet friendly places to play, including beaches and dog parks, where your dog is welcome to romp. Some locations require leashes, others don't. Because we can't visit each one of these on a regular basis, we'd appreciate your help in keeping this list up to date. If you know of a pet friendly place to play that’s not listed here, or know that one listed is now closed or has new restrictions, please contact us for updates.
Sarasota’s Bay Front Park and Sarasota’s Season of Sculpture with shaded walkways offer parking and access to Centenial Park where expansive green space is available to dogs on leashes. There’s even a friendly Tiki bar called O'Leary's nearby. Here, puppies and owners can enjoy a beautiful sunset, meet new friends and catch a frisbee in the bay.
Bird Key Park is just west of the Ringling Bridge with plenty of room for dogs to run and play in Sarasota Bay. Take US 41 north, then left on Ringling Boulevard to Lido Key. Once over the Ringling Bridge at the first traffic light there’ll be parking on the right hand side. This park continues under the bridge and around the other side with a protected grassy area and more sandy shore. It is here you'll see dolphins and in summer months...manatees.
